Tarpon Tale Inn offers accommodations from cozy efficiency rooms to cottage style suites. All guest rooms feature cool tile floors, a private bathroom with a walk-in shower, and a private patio. Some rooms include a seating area. The Captain's Quarters sleeps up to four, with a queen sleeper sofa, swivel rocker, and a flat-screen TV. The Tarpon Suite sleeps up to five, with a twin sleeper and a queen sleeper sofa, a flat screen TV, a propane grill, and two chaise lounge chairs. The Mangrove room includes a king bed, sofa, and full kitchen. The Lighthouse studio sleeps up to four with a king bed, queen sleeper and kitchen, and a patio with a table, two chairs, and an umbrella. The Island Sunset room includes a queen bed, twin sleeper sofa, kitchen island with three stools, full-size refrigerator, two-burner cooktop, microwave, drip coffee maker, and a private patio with bistro-style furniture. The Mermaid room features a glass table and two swivel chairs, a larger bathroom with a makeup vanity, and a small patio with bistro-style patio set. The Seashell room has a queen bed, loveseat sofa, a small patio with bistro-style patio set. The smallest room offers a queen bed, smaller refrigerator, microwave, drip coffee maker, a small seating area, and bistro-style furniture on the private patio. Rooms have heating and air conditioning.

The Patisserie at Sanibel's Best Homemade Ice Cream is located in the same center and sells pastries. The Lighthouse Cafe is within walking distance. Bailey's and Jerry's, two full-service grocery stores, offer online shopping and delivery.

Guests can relax in hammocks. Complimentary bicycles for adult guests are available. Beach chairs, umbrellas, and carts are provided. Fishing line, plastic bags, and six-pack rings are the greatest threat to wildlife. Sanibel is a natural collection point for shells traveling north on the Gulf current. Surf fishing, back bay, and deep sea fishing can be enjoyed year-round. Over half of Sanibel's land is protected. Guests can cycle to the lighthouse, beaches, and wildlife refuge.

Tarpon Tale Inn is located on Sanibel Island, across San Carlos Bay from Ft. Myers, Florida, 30 km away. The Inn's location at the east end makes access easier. It is near Periwinkle Way (0.5 km), Lighthouse Beach Park (0.5 km) and Point Ybel (1 km).
